Who we are
Regional Development Australia Central Coast NSW Inc (RDACC) Committee is part of a network of 55 Committees across Australia (14 in New South Wales) which were formed on 1 July 2009.
Regional Development Australia is a partnership between the Australian, state, territory and local governments to develop and strengthen the regional communities of Australia. It has a pivotal role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of Australia's regions.
Membership of the RDACC Committee is by joint appointment of the Commonwealth and State Ministers for Regional Development.
The RDACC Committee employs an Executive Officer, Office Manager, and, from time to time, Project Officers.
What we do
Our roles and responsibilities are in the following areas:
- Consultation and engagement with the community
- Informed regional planning
- Whole of government activities
- Promotion of government programs
- Community and economic development
How our activities impact on the public
In working for the development of the region, our Committee consults, collaborates and (from time to time) enters more formal partnerships with local government, agencies of the Commonwealth and New South Wales governments, industry, business, educational/training organisations, the community sector and individuals.
How the public can access information held by us
Our Committee's policy is to be transparent and accessible. The public has a right to access most of the information held by our Committee, as long as it does not infringe privacy laws or other laws or may be detrimental to any person. In most cases we publish information on the website, if not in total, in summary or lists. If you would like to access a document named in a list which is not available on the website, please contact our office.

Please note that RDACC does not have any contracts with private sector providers with a value greater than $150,000.
Accessing Information
Our Committee's policy is to be transparent and accessible. The public has a right to access most of the information held by our Committee, as long as it does not infringe privacy laws or other laws or may be detrimental to any person.
Under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) RDACC must release information unless there is an overriding public interest against disclosure. There are four categories of information that may be accessed under the GIPA Act.
Mandatory Disclosure
Certain information must be published on an agency's website. This includes policy documents, current publication guide, disclosure log and register of government contracts.
Proactive Release
Agencies are encouraged to take the initiative to release as much government information as possible, free of charge (or at lowest reasonable cost).
Informal Release
Specific information can be requested and released without the need for a formal application, unless there are good reasons to require a formal application.
Formal Access
In limited circumstances, access to information will require formal access applications.
How do I get Information?
In most cases RDACC publish information on the website, if not in total, in summary or lists. If you would like to access a document named in a list visit www.rdacc.org.au
Contact RDACC office on the contacts listed at the rear of this publication. RDACC will decide whether the information you want:
- Is open access or mandatory release information that is readily available. If it is, we will tell you where to access the information.
- Should be made available as part of a proactive release of information.
- Can be disclosed to you through informal release i.e. where no third party information is involved.
- Requires a formal access application.
If making a formal application, access to documents can be obtained by making a request in writing to the Right of Information Officer. You will be required to supply all relevant details and include an application fee of $30.00. Please contact RDACC on the contacts listed at the rear of this publication.
